Guest Thank You Note: For a Long List

November 16, 2010

One of the most interesting benefits of Facebook has been reconnecting with high school pals, people I used to see almost every day for four years or more. Though the medium itself is somewhat one-dimensional, Facebook allows me to see my classmates from new perspectives — perspectives my teen-age self wasn’t capable of.

Anita Christie (nee Krall) — who probably carried most of the load of our shared yearbook job while I focused more on the student newspaper — now constantly touches me with her thoughtful, supportive Facebook posts and comments. I’m inspired by her work in a group home for people with developmental disabilities. I’m glad she decided to share her thank you note here.

A Thank You Note From Anita Christie

I am thankful that my list of things for which I am thankful is a long one!

Here are the items at the top of the list:

I am thankful to be alive. I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for my friends. I am thankful for my home. I am thankful for my jobs. And … I am thankful that I have been blessed with a good sense of humor, ’cause some days I need it!

……….

Coach’s Query

What’s at the top of your thank you list? If there’s a special person up there, will you thank her or him today?

You’re invited to share a thank you note — for things or people or concepts anywhere on your list — here in this space.
